Asbury United Methodist Church recently issued the following announcement.
This week in Asbury Kids we had an Ash Wednesday class. We talked about why we celebrate Ash Wednesday. We put our sins at the cross and took turns putting a cross of ashes on our foreheads, understanding that we are forgiven and that we are children of God. We talked about the season of Lent and what a sacrifice is and how Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us. It was a beautiful class and the children did an amazing job!
We also celebrated January and February birthdays and had cookie cake! We had Bible trivia at the end of class.
In little Asbury Kids, we also had an Ash Wednesday class. We talked about what it means to be a disciple and how to share the word of God with others. We made invitations for our friends to join us at Little Asbury class!
Each week both classes meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and have a craft or activity, a snack and time of fun and fellowship. Come join the fun!
