CITY OF COLUMBUS: Spring Sweep begins March 23

Athome yardsmart springbulb(3)

The City of Columbus Department of Public Works will be collecting leaves, pine needles and other yard debris curbside as part of their annual Spring Sweep program.  Collections will begin March 23 and will run through April 3 for all residential areas of Columbus.  Yard debris should be curbside by 7:00 am on your trash pick-up day.

Residents requiring pick up of yard debris will be required to place it in a yard waste toter beginning April 6 through December 18.  “Toter” brand compost toters may be purchased at Lowe’s Home Improvement stores.

Tips for Spring/Summer collections:

  1. Compost toters and brush will collected the SAME DAY as YOUR TRASH.
  2. Small piles of tree limbs are to be stacked next to the curb
  3. Grass, leaves, flowers and garden debris go in compost toters
  4. One armful of brush/small sticks can go in your trash toter each week.
Schedule a special pick-up for large amounts of yard waste, tree limbs, etc. by calling the Department of Public Works at (812) 376-2509.
