Columbus ranked 106th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Columbus ranked 106th among cities in Indiana by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Columbus residents was an inflation-adjusted $31,132 per year. Columbus had 18,873 households in 2017, with a population of 46,926.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Spring Hill. Spring Hill's median income was $83,750 per year after adjusting for inflation – $52,618 more than Columbus. It had 43 households in 2017 and a population of 70.

Notre Dame had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Indiana, with a median income of only $3,392 per year. That was $27,740 less than the median income in Columbus at the time. Notre Dame had 150 households in 2017 and a population of 6,720.
