Cross Country: IU East at IWU Twilight Invite

Indiana University-East issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

The Indiana University East cross country teams opened the season at the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 10.

Savannah Hart led the IU East women with a time of 20:06.80 to finish 53rd.

Other women to compete for the Red Wolves were Hannah Markeson (21:09.70, 98th), Sarah Marshall (21:37.71, 119th), Maddy Wolf (21:43.30, 125th), Julia Arruda (21:47.60, 125th), Edmalie Cruz Sanchez (22:02.60, 132nd), Macy Adams (22:03.60, 133rd) and Abby Page (24:43.10, 165th)

Shelby Christman of Huntington University won the women's 5K race in 17:36.30, while Taylor University won the team championship.

On the men's side, Chance Klipstine topped the Red Wolves with a 28:19.10 to finish 98th.

Also running for the men were Liam Nelson (28:20.70, 99th), Brandan Wright (29:14.40, 128th), Dixon Minton (29:33.00, 137th), Caden Shumaker (29:41.50, 140th), AJ Ludwig (29:45.40, 142th) and Izaiah Doering (34:54.50, 171th).

The men's 8K event was won by Taylor's Daniel Gerber. The host Wilcats won the men's team title.

Next up for the Red Wolves is the IU East Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18. The women's race gets underway at 10:45 a.m. The men's meet starts at 11 a.m.
