Indiana University-East issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.

The Indiana University East men's soccer team won its third straight contest with a 1-0 victory at Point Park University on Thursday, Oct. 28.

The Red Wolves are 4-11-1 overall, sixth place the River States Conference standings at 4-4, and in strong position to qualify for the RSC postseason tournament. Point Park is 7-8-1 and 3-5 in the league.

"It's hard to describe the feeling we have," IU East coach Steve Moore said. "After having gotten knocked out of the playoffs here last year, a lot of people having kind of written us off and left us for dead earlier in the season. The past few wins, and this one in particular, have been really sweet. These guys deserve all the credit for continuing to believe, fight and not throw in the towel."

Callum Coleman scored in the first half for IU East at 21:55 off a corner kick by Brian Alvarez. It was the second goal of the fall for Coleman and the fourth assist for Alvarez.

Alex Visscher had a season-high nine saves in goal for the Red Wolves.

"The last few months we've been struggling with people being sick and injuries, so it's a great feeling to be playing at full strength again," Visscher said. "This team has been working very well together as a unit and has been getting the job done. Everyone individually is doing their job well and it couldn't be a better way to lead up to the conference tournament."

IU East finishes the regular season at RSC foe Carlow University on Saturday, Oct. 30. The affair is scheduled for a noon start.
