Indiana University-East issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.

The Indiana University East women's soccer team advanced to the semifinal round of the the River States Conference Championship with a 3-0 victory over Oakland City University at Eaton High School on Saturday, Nov. 6.

IU East is now 11-6-1 overall, while the No. 6 seeded Mighty Oaks end the season at 8-9-1.

"At this time of year, it's about advancing," IU East coach Shane Meridith said. "But I can't say enough about how this team comes together during difficult times and plays attractive soccer. All of those three goals are highlight reels. We've got big exams ahead of us this week."

The No. 3 seeded Red Wolves travel to No. 2 seed University of Rio Grande 10-5-2 on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The title match of the RSC Championship is at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Shelby O'Leary scored twice in the opening half for the Red Wolves, while Tori Martino added a goal early in the second half.

"I thought at the top we all worked together," O'Leary said. "Me, Kimberly Trapp and Kayla Amidon all ran off each other well and we connected like we needed to. I thought we played well and we're ready for Rio."

O'Leary's first goal came on a header off a corner kick by Sophie Pohlabel at the 5:47 mark. Trapp assisted in the second score at 14:52. Early in the second half, Tori Martino found the back of the net at 46:04 after a pass from Abbie Conway.

With her two goals, O'Leary is second on the IU East squad in scoring with eight goals and an assist for 17 points. Pohlabel leads the Red Wolves with six assists. Along with her four goals, she now has 14 points.

Trapp's assist moves her closer to the season record for points in a season. With 11 goals and five assists she has 27 points just one behind Dejhanna O"Bryant's mark that was set in 2017.

Martino's goal was her third of the season and ninth of her career. Conway's assist was her fifth this fall and eighth overall for the Red Wolves.

Gabby Mitchum had two saves and Ashlynn Black recorded a save as the duo posted a shutout in goal for the Red Wolves.
