Indiana University-East issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
The early-season grades are in, and it's a perfect 4-0 for the Indiana University East women's basketball team.
The Red Wolves maintained their unbeaten start with a 90-59 win against the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Nov. 6 in the final game of the First Bank Richmond Classic.
IU East went 2-0 at its home event for the first time since 2017. Michigan-Dearborn fell to 1-4.
Kami McEldowney and Addie Brown scored 21 points apiece for the Red Wolves. Bethany Mackin added 15.
"We were really excited about this weekend," Brown said. "We wanted to be 4-0 to start, and that's a great way to start. We stuck to the game plan and worked really hard and played as a team, and it was really fun this weekend."
IU East limited the Wolverines to a .214 shooting percentage from 3-point range and a .328 shooting percentage overall. The Red Wolves shared the ball on offense to the tune of 19 assists on 30 field goals.
All four of IU East's wins this season have been by double digits. The Red Wolves have held all four opponents to a .405 shooting percentage or lower.
IU East hosts the University of the Cumberlands on Nov. 9. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. on Lingle Court.
