Indiana University-East recently issued the following announcement.
Out with the old year with a conference road trip, in with the new year with a home game against a nationally ranked opponent for the Indiana University East women's basketball team.
IU East (12-3, 4-1) plays its last game of the 2021 calendar year on Dec. 30 with a River States Conference contest at WVU Tech (4-9, 3-1). Tipoff is at 2 p.m. in Beckley, W.Va.
The Red Wolves return to Lingle Court on Jan. 1 for a New Year's Day home game against NAIA No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University (13-2), which reached the Round of 4 at the national tournament last season. Tipoff time is 1 p.m.
DEC. 30 - FOLLOW IU EAST AT WVU TECH
WVU Tech, which has played in the last three national tournaments, plays its home games at Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, GPS address 200 Armory Drive in Beckley, W.Va.

JAN. 1 - FOLLOW INDIANA WESLEYAN AT IU EAST
General admission for IU East basketball is $7. IU East students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their university ID.
With guidance from the university's medical and public health leaders as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Indiana Department of Health, all students, faculty, staff and visitors on all IU campuses are instructed to wear a mask indoors, including at IU East basketball home games on Lingle Court. This guidance will allow IU campuses to keep in-person classes, events and activities while also maintaining health and safety.
The GPS address for Lingle Court is 2325 Chester Boulevard in Richmond.

* The Red Wolves' 12-3 record represents the best 15-game start in IU East's program history.
* IU East is 4-6 all-time against WVU Tech. The Golden Bears have won the last four meetings.
* IU East is 2-2 in NAIA meetings against Indiana Wesleyan. The Red Wolves won the first two meetings, in 2016 and 2017. The Wildcats won in 2018 and 2019.
* The IU East-Indiana Wesleyan game will be the second NAIA women's basketball game of the 2022 calendar year. The Cornerstone-Davenport game that tips off at noon will be the first.
* Kennedy Griffin was named River States Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 20 after averaging 27.0 points per game in IU East's two wins at the pre-holiday West Palm Beach Invitational.
* IU East is 4-1 in true road games this year and 5-1 in home games.
* IU East is 8-0 when it makes 30 or more field goals.
* IU East ranks in the national top 25 points scored per game (10th with 82.9), free throws per game (10th with 16.4), assists per game (12th with 18.1) and 3-point field goals per game (16th with 8.9), .
* Addie Brown (15.0 points per game), Kennedy Griffin (14.6), Bethany Mackin (12.0) and Kami McEldowney (11.6) all average double digits in scoring for IU East.
* Tia Tolbert (5.9 rebounds per game), Bethany Mackin (3.8 assists per game), Marissa Quiroz (0.7 blocks per game) and Paige Gregory (2.1 steals per game) are IU East's leaders in the other standard statistical categories.
