Indiana University-East recently issued the following announcement.
For the second week in a row, three Red Wolves earned River States Conference athlete of the week honors in their respective sports, the league announced March 28.
For the second week in a row, Indiana University East's Jo Wisecup is the RSC Women's Golfer of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. Wisecup placed fourth of 40
golfers at the Heritage Hill Collegiate to earn the weekly honor. She did so with rounds of 82 and 81 at the par-72 layout of Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Ky. Wisecup
led the Red Wolves to second place as a team. IU East had a team score of 328 in the final round, the best of any team in the chilly two-day event. IU East will be at the Midway
(Ky.) Invitational April 4-5.
IU East's Thorben Waldburger earned two points in a conference win to pick up RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance. Waldburger won
his singles and doubles matches in a victory over Ohio Christian to earn the award. He was victorious at No. 5 singles in straight sets without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0. He also
played No. 1 doubles for a victory of 6-1. The Red Wolves won the match, 7-0, in their conference opener. IU East will be facing IU Southeast and Midway (Ky.) this weekend.
IU East's Jake Miller is the RSC Men's Golfer of the Week presented by Brown & Brown Insurance, his second time in as many weeks claiming the award. Miller tied for third place
individually at the Alice Lloyd (Ky.) Spring Invitational. That led IU East to second place of eight teams and 48 total golfers in the field. Playing in cold and miserable conditions,
Miller carded rounds of 76-69 at the 36-hole event. He shot 1-under the final 18 holes to get within one stroke of the lead. IU East will be at the Midway (Ky.) Invitational April 4-5.
