Olivia Hence of Pike High School in Indianapolis has signed a letter of intent to play women's soccer at Indiana University East starting with the 2022 season.
Red Wolves coach Shane Meridith made the announcement on June 24.
"IU East is a lucky program to get such a tremendous student-athlete and great leader in Olivia Hence," said Pike Head Coach Sean McGrath. "She is a physically strong and mentally fearless GK that will continue to work on her craft to improve each day."
As a goalkeeper for the Red Devils, Hence was second in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference in saves, while receiving the team's Mental Attitude Award and Golden Glove. She was also a member of Pike's basketball squad and a thrower for the track team.
Olivia is the daughter of Melody and Ricky Hence with plans of majoring Human Life Science.
"I wanted to further my education and be able to play the sport I love at the same time," Hence said of her decision to join the Red Wolves.
Hence is another member of the 2022 IU East women's soccer recruiting class to be announced this spring.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolves have won the River States Conference Tournament twice and as a result reached the NAIA National Championships in 2019 and 2020-21.
