The IU East men's golf team announces the signing of Cooper Kinney as their next Red Wolf commit for the 2023-24 season.
Cooper signed with IUE after a stellar junior season which included sectional medalist honors, shooting a score of 75 at nearby Liberty Country Club. He also shot a 76 to finish second in the Eastern Indiana Conference Championship.
"We feel Cooper epitomizes what a Red Wolf golfer is all about," head coach Jeff Williams said. "He is very competitive on the golf course and willing to put in the work off the course to pursue his academic goals while consistently becoming a better golfer."
Cooper intends to major in Business while at IU East. The son of Nick and Tracie Kinney had this to say why he is joining Red Wolf Nation.
"I chose IU East because I feel like is the place that will make me feel most at home. Coach Williams made me feel very welcomed and the players were extremely supportive."
The current IU East men's golf team will begin their season March 25-26 at Heritage Hill GC in Shepherdsville, KY.
