It was one of the highest-scoring quarters of the season for the Ball State women's basketball team, a 30-point explosion to be exact, in the final 10 minutes of action that helped the Cardinals to an 81-59 victory at Buffalo Wednesday night in Mid-American Conference action in Alumni Arena.

With the win, Ball State improved its overall record to 14-4 and now has a 4-1 MAC ledger for its best league start since the 2016-17 season. Buffalo dropped to 8-6 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.

It came to no surprise that tonight's game would be a close contest, so close in fact that the game was knotted at 51 with 9:49 remaining in the contest.

After that, graduate senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir broke the tie with a layup to give Ball State back the lead for the 10th and final time, as the Cardinals ran away with it, putting together an incredible offensive and defensive display which allowed Ball State to outscore Buffalo, 30-10.

"Our team understood the 40 min effort we had to play with," Ball State head coach Brady Sallee said. "We got stronger as the game went on and I thought the tougher team won tonight."

Sallee was right, the Cardinals were on fire in the fourth quarter making shots from all over the court which included 63 percent (10-16) shooting for the field.

All-in-all Ball State out toughed Buffalo tonight, out-rebounding the Bulls, 35-28. The Cardinals were also able to move the ball well along with getting 23 points from its bench which BSU has been able to utilize all season.

For the game, Sophomore Ally Becki led all players with 23 points while also adding 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Clephane was the second highest scorer with 20 points and teammate senior Annie Rauch chipped in 14 points.

The Ball State women's basketball team will return to Worthen Arena Saturday when it hosts Central Michigan at 1 pm ET. The Cardinals will welcome their alumni back for the game and a dinner following the contest.
