The IU East women's basketball team led from start to finish in their RSC matchup against Ohio Christian.

After holding an 18-point lead, the Red Wolves had to hang on at the end as they defeated the Trailblazers 100-95 Tuesday.

The win gives the Red Wolves their fifth victory in a row. Addie Brown came off the bench and scored a team-high 30 points. She shot 7-of-12 from the field including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Kennedy Griffin added 24 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Kenzie Hudgen had 13 points and Christina Himelick finished with 11 points and seven boards.

IU East outscored Ohio Christian 26-13 in the first quarter. They stormed out to a 15-4 lead. Brown and Griffin scored 10 of those 15 points to give IUE the early lead.

With Ohio Christian trailing by 18 points with 7:12 remaining in the half, they went on a run of their own, a 13-2 run to bring the deficit down to seven. Griffin scored the last six points in the half to head into the locker room up 11.

In the fourth quarter, the Trailblazers tried to make their comeback. Down 14 to start the quarter, Ohio Christian brought the deficit down to four points with six minutes to go. They were able to trim the deficit as low as three points but that was with 15 seconds left in the game. The Red Wolves were able to come up with some clutch free-throw shooting to preserve the win and hold off the comeback attempt from the Trailblazers.

The Red Wolves will travel to Rio Grande on Saturday to take on the No. 11 Red Storm. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
