U.S. Congressman Greg Pence (R-IN) today praised the award of $75 million to Cummins Inc. in Columbus, Indiana, aimed at supporting the U.S. automotive supply chain.

“This is a huge win for Hoosier jobs and the Sixth District!” Congressman Pence stated. “For decades, Cummins has proven itself a global leader from right here in Columbus, and this grant will give them even more opportunity for innovation. With the creation of 250 new jobs, the funding does more than support manufacturing; this is an investment in the local community.”

The grant, which will be administered by the U.S. Department of Energy, is part of the Domestic Manufacturing Auto Conversion Grants program. Cummins will invest an additional $75 million in cost share, resulting in a total of $150 million in funding.
